9/2/13 - In addition to the new revelations over the National Security Agency listening to the communications of the Brazilian and Mexican presidents, there is now a New York Times report that a program called the Hemisphere Project, run by the Drug Enforcement Administration, involves the U.S. government paying AT&T for access to phone records going all the way back to 1987.
Just how serious is this? The Times report says, somewhat surprisingly, that the "scale and longevity" of this program is "unmatched by other government programs," including the NSA, because that agency only holds phone metadata for five years. The program encompasses not just AT&T customer calls, but "every call that passes through an AT&T switch," and the data is in fact stored by AT&T.
AT&T has not yet made any public comment on the program or its involvement in it, simply stating that they are required to respond to "valid subpoenas issued by law enforcement." The full report is available here, along with this interactive slideshow on the program provided to the Times.
Fox News' Special Report took on the issue today, with Steve Hayes saying it might trouble Americans more than the NSA scandal and Charles Krauthammer asking the question of how much protection is "worth the sacrifices" to Americans' civil liberties.
Russia asks Turkey for info on sarin
terroristsTweetprintable version6 June 2013
Russia has called on Turkey to share its findings in the case of Syrian rebels who were seized on the Turkish-Syrian border with a 2kg cylinder full of nerve gas sarin.
Russia’s top foreign official Sergei Lavrov tolday said the Kremlin wanted to get clear on the issue of chemical weapons used in Syria, since the allegation had taken on the role of a trading card in the conflict, becoming a focus of constant provocations.
“I do not rule out that some force may want to use it [the rumour] to say that the “red line” has been crossed and a foreign intervention is needed,” the minister said.
They are all funded by House Saud. I had said this in another thread that we are FAR too shortsighted to be playing this game with the Turks, Arabs, Persians and Syrians. We are babies. Hell, how many people on this thread know what their grandfather's did, how about great-grandfather? Both your mom and dad's side? The current king of Saudi Arabia, 4th or 5th son of Ibn Saud, I guarantee you, can tell you what every ancestor did probably from at least 300 years ago, if not further back. See, that region has been at war for pretty much all of recorded history, until the Ottomans came in and put their foot down. From the 14th century until the 19th the Arabs were relegated to 5th world status. Riyadh had been captured and tossed back and forth between the Ottomans and Marmluks for a hundred years, the Saud were hiding with the Bedouins and in their first revolt took Medina and Mecca from the Empire in 1803 and then in 1818 on behalf of the Ottomans the Egyptians crush the Arab peninsula. Understand something, Ibn Saud was born in 1863 the warfare between the Arab and the Turk is fresh in the mind of the Arab. World War I; Without house Saud there would have been no British win in Damascus. Without the Sauds the British and French would have never been able to land in the Middle east, what with the eastern half of the Mediterranean 100% under Ottoman control. This is, I am almost positive, the result of long term planning by Ibn Saud, When Sir Lawrence offered them assistance and legitimacy for just doing what they had been doing (a thorn in the sultan's side) Saud saw his chance. And with western lust for oil, well. The Saud wants, and has always wanted complete control over Islam and her people. Its not a new Ottoman Empire, its a new Saud Empire, one 500+ years in the cooking.
The fake left and fake right paradigm is disintegrated with a tax on the 1.5 quadrillion dollars in DTCC Wall Street transactions per year. It's the only thing that will save the Federal Republic. Taxing all the transactions as they occur is the only way to fix our crumbling United States. It's either that or the U.S. ends up being broken up into a couple different countries once the financial system collapses.
The End of Poverty: Economic Possibilities for Our Time is a 2005 book by American economist Jeffrey Sachs. It was a New York Times bestseller.
In the book, Sachs argues that extreme poverty—defined by the World Bank as incomes of less than one dollar per day—can be eliminated globally by the year 2025, through carefully planned development aid. He presents the problem as an inability of very poor countries to reach the "bottom rung" of the ladder of economic development; once the bottom rung is reached, a country can pull itself up into the global market economy, and the need for outside aid will be greatly diminished or eliminated.
In order to address and remedy the specific economic stumbling blocks of various countries, Sachs espouses the use of what he terms "clinical economics", by analogy to medicine. Sachs explains that countries, like patients, are complex systems, requiring differential diagnosis, an understanding of context, monitoring and evaluation, and professional standards of ethics. Clinical economics requires a methodic analysis and "differential diagnosis" of a country's economic problems, followed by a specifically tailored prescription. Many factors can affect a country's ability to enter the world market, including government corruption; legal and social disparities based on gender, ethnicity, or caste; diseases such as AIDS and malaria; lack of infrastructure (including transportation, communications, health, and trade), unstable political landscapes; protectionism; and geographic barriers. Sachs discusses each factor, and its potential remedies, in turn.
In order to illustrate the use of clinical economics, Sachs presents case studies on Bolivia, Poland, and Russia, and discusses the solutions he presented to those countries, and their effects. The book also discusses the economies of Malawi, India, China, and Bangladesh as representative of various stages of economic development.
Sachs places a great deal of emphasis on the United Nations' Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) as a first step towards eliminating extreme poverty, which affected approximately 1.1 billion people worldwide at the time of publication. Sachs headed the United Nations Millennium Project, which worked from 2002 to 2005 to establish the organizational means to achieve the MDGs.
He also offers some specific, immediate solutions, such as increasing the availability of anti-malarial bed nets in sub-Saharan Africa, and encourages debt cancellation for the world's poorest countries. Sachs states that in order to achieve the goal of eliminating global poverty, clinical economics must be backed by greater funding; he argues that development aid must be raised from $65 billion globally as of 2002 to between $135 and $195 billion a year by 2015.
Sachs argues that the developed world can afford to raise the poorest countries out of extreme poverty; he agrees with the MDG's calculation that 0.7 percent of the combined gross national product of first-world countries would be sufficient to achieve that goal.
In this episode of the Keiser Report, Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert discuss the potholes in the economy causing young people to go deeply into debt for education, property and retirement. In the second half, Max talks to Iona Bain of youngmoneyblog.co.uk about students debts in the UK and the merits of raising interest rates in order to encourage savings.

Al Qaeda: Private Army of America’s Neocon Right" There was never an organization known as Al Qaeda, not until now. “Phony Al Qaeda” was an imaginary boogeyman enemy constructed out of false flag terrorists employed by a variety of intelligence agencies to bring the world to economic collapse. History makes this hypothesis a “slam dunk.” There was no “Al Qaeda,” a extremist, jihadist movement intent on warring against Christianity on behalf of, well, we aren’t really sure, until if was formed in Syria. There, up to 80,000 fighters from 27 nations are at war with the government. The majority are there to create a terrorist empire as a base of operations to attack the United States, Europe and Russia. None are there to war on Israel or support Palestinian rights. This is extremely curious. They are flown into Jordan, planeload after planeload by private cargo carriers contracted to the CIA and Department of Defense. Two dozen Boeing 747s sit waiting at an abandoned SAC (Strategic Air Command) base in Northern Michigan. These planes, contracted to the CIA, can carry 8,000 Al Qaeda fighters a day. Problem is, this isn’t the only such facility. There are many. In fact, “Al Qaeda” has far more air transport capability that, not just Israel but Britain and France combined.
Sea change in America
On this Monday, September 2, special Labor Day edition of the Alex Jones Show, Alex and host David Knight talk about the momentous political and social sea change taking place in America. David covers the latest developments on Obama's proposed Syria attack as Congress balks at taking military action against the Assad government following a meeting on Capitol Hill on Sunday when select members of Congress were presented with classified information about the chemical attack last month in a suburb of Damascus. David takes your calls on Syria and other topics during today's worldwide broadcast.
British author and speaker David Icke has written 20 books and traveled to over 55 countries. His books reveal how a hidden hand is behind world-changing events like the attacks of 9/11 and the manufactured wars in the Middle East, as part of a mass mind manipulation technique he has dubbed problem-reaction-solution. While being controversial and often heavily attacked, David Icke has driven on with his unrelentless investigation into subject areas that others don't dare touch. He returns to talk about the new media channel "The People's Voice" and his upcoming book "The Perception Deception." In the first hour, we discuss the current media climate and the diverse voices and opinions that exist. He shares his inspiration for starting a new media channel and what he sees it developing into. In the second hour, he speaks about his upcoming book and the false science which most people let define their reality. We talk about how most people live in a virtual reality. They reject information by reflex reaction. The rulers are trying to create predictable collectivists who all behave the same. Later, David discusses the source of creativity and mentions that people such as Leonardo Da Vinci & Giordano Bruno were not ahead of their time, but beyond time. We end the discussion on internet censorship in the UK and why this approach will fail.
British firms recently sold Syria chemicals which can be used to make nerve gas - the agent allegedly used during last month's deadly attack near Damascus. It's been revealed that London granted export licences last January, when Syria was already ravaged by civil war. RT's Sara Firth reports

The real truth is, Fukishima, is worse than the story im plies. With the proximity to the Pacific ocean and ocean currents this will effect all life on earth. For a little while the southern hemisphere will be safe, but only for a little while. Can our government lose any more credibility? Everything they say is being exposed as lies. They have been covering up this disaster as much as the Japanese government. Most people aren't buying the lies anymore. The NWO cookie is crumbling as more and more people see it for the evil that it is. This scares the shit out of me because they still have the option of nuclear world war. We are winning the infowar and could possibly avoid a world war if the military people stand down when the orders come in. Come on People! Wake up!
There is no doubt, that complete transparency in all areas of government is now taking place, and all those in the lower echelons of government who are aware of the terrible corruption, manipulation and deceit, should come forward now and clear their names, and wash their hands out in the open, and rid themselves of the burden of being amongst the ranks of the most unscrupulous people on the planet.
As the spotlight of truth sweeps through all levels of government, and as complete transparency washes away the secrecy that normally surrounds and protects what is going on in all levels of government, there will be no place in the establishment that will not be fully exposed. The exposure will not just be exposing the present corruption and deceit, but will open and expose virtually everything that has taken place previously.
As more and more people in government feel guilty for being a part of the global sickness of corrupt government, the more people will defect and come out to clear their names. This is taking place now as the spotlight of truth burns deep into people’s conscience. It is also taking place in the military and police as they can no longer stand shoulder to shoulder with the lies and deceit of those who give them their orders.
There is a definite purging taking place which is exposing everything which is not the truth, with the technology of the internet speeding the process up to lightning speed, and that lightening of truth is striking into the hearts of the most unlikely of people we would expect to step forward and speak the truth. This truth is finding everybody and there is nowhere to hide.
So let all those who know the truth to come forward and speak the truth, and it is better to come forward and admit one’s own conscious involvement in deception and show remorse, than to wait on the collapsing tower of lies and be seen floundering in the rubble later when it has collapsed. - Jason Liosatos

TWO SIDES OF THE SAME COIN. ONE DAY THEY WILL SEE, ALL GOVERNMENTS ALL CORPORATIONS ALL POLICE FORCES ALL MILTARY FORCES MOST ALL RELIGIONS ALL SCHOOLS ALL POLITICIANS OF THE WHOLE PLANET,,,,,,,,,ARE,,,,,,,,,, THE SYSTEM OF THE BEAST.
Washington already has a lot of naval power on standby in the Mediterranean and that was even before Obama made it clear he wants to attack Syria. Congress says it will decide on whether to use this military might when it's back from its break on September 9th. Phyllis Bennis, director of the Institute for policy studies who's written extensively on the Middle East and the U.S. foreign policy joins RT studio.
President Obama announced this weekend that he has decided to use military force against Syria and would seek authorization from Congress when it returned from its August break. Every Member ought to vote against this reckless and immoral use of the US military. But even if every single Member and Senator votes for another war, it will not make this terrible idea any better because some sort of nod is given to the Constitution along the way.
Besides, the president made it clear that Congressional authorization is superfluous, asserting falsely that he has the authority to act on his own with or without Congress. That Congress allows itself to be treated as window dressing by the imperial president is just astonishing.
The President on Saturday claimed that the alleged chemical attack in Syria on August 21 presented "a serious danger to our national security." I disagree with the idea that every conflict, every dictator, and every insurgency everywhere in the world is somehow critical to our national security. That is the thinking of an empire, not a republic. It is the kind of thinking that this president shares with his predecessor and it is bankrupting us and destroying our liberties here at home.
According to recent media reports, the military does not have enough money to attack Syria and would have to go to Congress for a supplemental appropriation to carry out the strikes. It seems our empire is at the end of its financial rope. The limited strikes that the president has called for in Syria would cost the US in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey wrote to Congress last month that just the training of Syrian rebels and "limited" missile and air strikes would cost "in the billions" of dollars. We should clearly understand what another war will do to the US economy, not to mention the effects of additional unknown costs such as a spike in fuel costs as oil skyrockets.
I agree that any chemical attack, particularly one that kills civilians, is horrible and horrendous. All deaths in war and violence are terrible and should be condemned. But why are a few hundred killed by chemical attack any worse or more deserving of US bombs than the 100,000 already killed in the conflict? Why do these few hundred allegedly killed by Assad count any more than the estimated 1,000 Christians in Syria killed by US allies on the other side? Why is it any worse to be killed by poison gas than to have your head chopped off by the US allied radical Islamists, as has happened to a number of Christian priests and bishops in Syria?
For that matter, why are the few hundred civilians killed in Syria by a chemical weapon any worse than the 2000-3000 who have been killed by Obama's drone strikes in Pakistan? Does it really make a difference whether a civilian is killed by poison gas or by drone missile or dull knife?
In "The Sociology of Imperialism," Joseph Schumpeter wrote of the Roman Empire's suicidal interventionism: "There was no corner of the known world where some interest was not alleged to be in danger or under actual attack. If the interests were not Roman, they were those of Rome's allies; and if Rome had no allies, then allies would be invented. When it was utterly impossible to contrive an interest - why, then it was the national honour that had been insulted."
Sadly, this sounds like a summary of Obama's speech over the weekend. We are rapidly headed for the same collapse as the Roman Empire if we continue down the president's war path. What we desperately need is an overwhelming Congressional rejection of the president's war authorization. Even a favorable vote, however, cannot change the fact that this is a self-destructive and immoral policy.
Elizabeth Warren Born in Oklahoma City in 1949, Elizabeth Warren became the first member of her family to graduate from college, eventually earning her law degree from Rutgers University. After working as a law professor at Harvard University, Warren was selected to lead the National Bankruptcy Review Commission. In 2008, she headed the Congressional Oversight Panel for the Troubled Asset Relief Program. Four years later, in November 2012, Warren won election to the U.S. Senate, By 1978, she had divorced her first husband. In the year after the split, Warren began exploring the economic pressures facing the American middle class, looking specifically at a 1978 law passed by Congress that made it easier for companies and individuals to declare bankruptcy. Warren decided to investigate the reasons why Americans were ending up in bankruptcy court, and discovered that most of the financial victims were from middle-class families who had lost jobs, experienced financial hardship from a divorce, or suffered illnesses that decimated their savings. From then on, Warren would focus her research on bankruptcy and commercial law—specifically on how it affected financially distressed companies and women, the elderly and the working poor. Warren married Harvard law professor Bruce Mann in 1980. She and Mann then moved together around the country, with Warren teaching at the University of Texas, the University of Michigan, and the University of Pennsylvania.

The few who understand the system will either be so interested in its profits or so dependent on its favours that there will be no opposition from that class, while on the other hand, the great body of the people mentally incapable of comprehending the tremendous advantage that capital derives from the system will bear its burdens without complaint and perhaps without even suspecting that the system is inimical to their interests.

"Debts must be collected, bonds and mortgages must be foreclosed as rapidly as possible. When, through a process of law, the common people lose their homes they will become more docile and more easily governed through the influence of the strong arm of government, applied by a central power of wealth under control of leading financiers.
This truth is well known among our principal men now engaged in forming an imperialism of Capital to govern the world.
